There were so many pretty things about this wedding and so many really special moments that I am having trouble writing about it! One of my most favorite and really the most important was just the joy and happiness that you will see on Christine and Matt’s face throughout their entire day. You can tell they just loved every minute of it. And what is not to love! Beautiful ceremony by the Archbishop (who wore my microphone btw – personal best!) hearing Christine’s Dad hum the “here comes the bride” song during Matt and Christine’s first look moment, and a stunning reception at the beautiful Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. I am so glad you chose to preserve this amazing day and your new family with video – this was a perfect example of why that is so important!

Sweet Bo! I love getting to watch these sweet babies grow and develop such unique personalities. Bo was all smiles for our session and had lots of coo about, big sister not as much, but I have a good feeling about next time! I might have to stock up on some candy for that one. So glad we had a pretty day to get to shoot a bit outside too!

Ahhh, baby Will! I have been photographing this family from the very beginning and it is such a treat to get to see them grow! Big brother Sam gave me a HUGE hug when I arrived – love him. We played inside and then got to do a family portrait on the front steps and I got to see big boy Sam ride on his scooter! They are growing so fast!

Morgan and Danny had the most amazing wedding day with so many family and friends to celebrate with – I fell in love with all the beautiful little kids! One of the things that made this wedding unique was the most amazing clear tent that was put up in Morgan’s parent’s back yard for the reception. It was beyond beautiful! AND come to find out, pretty darned waterproof! We had a heck of a downpour and lightning storm as the night went on – everyone was dry and safe and cozy and just continued to have a wonderful time! No surprises – Morgan and Danny are masters at making people feel comfortable and at ease. Thank you for letting me be part of your day! I can’t wait to edit your feature film!

Sometimes a wedding story just tells itself. This is one of those weddings. You may have seen the sneak peek a few months ago where our groom sang a song for his bride at the reception – that was the first time I have edited to live audio from a reception, but I just couldn’t help myself! This day was just FULL of moments like that. So many beautiful words to tell their story from family and friends, a penny that Brianne found before the ceremony brought the spirit of her Mom into the room, and so many friends and family dancing and celebrating with them at the most beautiful and FUN reception. Thank you Brianne and Danny for the most wonderful day and for letting me help you preserve it with film!

First I just have to say what an honor it is to be asked back to film a wedding by a family. This is the third daughter in this family that I have had the opportunity to film and it was so great to get to see them all! And everyone has little ones! LOVE THAT! Stephanie and Jordan were both so joyful and relaxed on their day and it rubbed off on everyone celebrating with them. We were lucky that all the scary midwest weather stayed away this day and enjoyed photos outside and a beautiful reception at the Rooftop Intercontenental Ballroom! I have to admit I was worried about hail and all those windows! LOL. All was good and they got the extra little bit of good luck with some slight sprinkles on their wedding day! Thanks Stephanie and Jordan – I can’t wait to edit your feature film – enjoy your peek!

I love my little babies – especially those that I get to visit with for their first year. This is the first of several BabyPlanners that you will get to see in the next couple weeks. Baby Lillian just never stopped chit-chatting and smiling at our visit! She is such a doll and spoils me each time I come to see her! Can’t wait to see you at one year Lillian! Kim and Chris – Kansas City Wedding Feature Film

I have a favorite priest. There, I said it. I try not to play favorites, but really, I just think Father Jerry is the best. I don’t know how he does it, but he can even make a huge cathedral like Redemptorist feel all warm and homey. Of course it also had a lot to do with these great families. Kim and Chris both have wonderful families and watching them come together for their wedding was so amazing. Kim and Chris were so relaxed on their wedding day and really just seemed to enjoy every minute of it. I hadn’t been in Bartle Hall since the Kauffman Center opening and it was so breathtaking to see the new center all lit up from the wall of windows at the reception. KC All Stars got the party going and everyone had a chance to tear up the dance floor! Thank you for letting me be part of your day guys!

Katie and John – Kansas City Wedding Video – Highlight Film

Katie and John had a beautiful fall day to celebrate their wedding. The weekend started with a lovely rehearsal dinner at one of my favorite locations, the Boulevard Brewery in Kansas City. Such a great place to start a weekend of family and friends coming together. The wedding was at Country Club Christian Church, one of my favorite shots was the sweet flower girls making their way down the isle to John. After a beautiful ceremony they all headed over to the InterContinental and the Michael Beers Band kicked off a wonderful party. Holly and the team from Simple Elegance kept everything running like clockwork and every detail was perfect! It was a spectacular day and I was honored to be a part of it. Here are a few of the long awaited baby duck sessions – there were so many amazing kids that I got to see on these special “duck days”, so many of them belong to former brides and grooms and so many more I have photographed since they were just days old. I think this is my favorite part of my job – no not the duck caka – getting to watch these families grow up! There are SO MANY more for you to look at on the Maura Photography FaceBook page. Until next year – yes my kids are already planning for next year. I am hoping I forget how much I didn’t enjoy cleaning up after them. OH – and they are happily growing and swimming at a farm pond in Wellsville, KS.
